Road scooters are designed for people who want to use their scooter for longer journeys, including the option of going on the road.
They are fitted with lights, indicators, horn, rear view mirrors and emergency brakes.
These are much larger and more powerful than other scooters as they can reach speeds of up to 8mph; this is limited to 4mph when travelling on pavements.
Some even offer off-road capabilities.
